By using Lil Planner, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of Lil Planner.

1. Scope & Applicability

  • Family & Planner Data: You can add information about family members (e.g., additional children or adults), daily routines, and photos attached to activities. This may include personal details you choose to provide.
  • Communication Preferences: We collect notification preferences or reminder settings you set within the App.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Usage Data: We collect information about how you interact with the App, such as which features you use, the actions you take (e.g., completing plans), and timestamps of your visits.
  • Device & Technical Data: We may collect device information (e.g., model, operating system), IP address, and approximate location (e.g., city-level) for analytics and error reporting.
  • Cookies & Similar Technologies: When you use our website or web-based features, we (or our service providers) may use cookies or similar technologies to authenticate users, store preferences, and analyze usage. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, but some features of our website may not function properly without them.

2.3 Children’s Information

Lil Planner is designed for families. Parents or guardians create accounts and may enter data about children (e.g., first name, routines, photos). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such information without parental consent, please contact us at support@lilplanner.com, and we will take steps to delete it.

3. How We Use Your Information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Improve the Service (Contract): We use the information collected to operate, maintain, and enhance Lil Planner’s features, such as creating planners, sending reminders, and enabling rewards. This processing is necessary to perform our contractual obligations to you.
  • Analytics and Performance (Legitimate Interest): We use analytics and error-reporting services to understand user engagement, fix bugs, and improve overall user experience.
  • Communication (Legitimate Interest or Consent): We may send you service-related notifications (e.g., reminders, account updates) and respond to your inquiries or support requests.
  • Compliance and Legal Obligations: We may use and retain information to comply with legal or financial obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our rights or the rights of others.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share information in the following ways:

  • Service Providers: We engage third-party companies to assist with hosting, payment processing, analytics, error reporting, and other operational tasks. These service providers process information on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your data.
  • Payment Processing: We do not collect or store payment details ourselves. If you make a purchase within Lil Planner, your payment details will be processed by our third-party payment processors, who are required to protect your data.
  • Within Your Family Group: If you invite other adults or guardians to join your family group in Lil Planner, they may see the planners and data associated with that group.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to lawful requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency).
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to confidentiality obligations.

5. International Data Transfers

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may operate in other countries. If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries that may not have the same data protection laws as your home jurisdiction.

When we transfer personal data from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland to the U.S. or other countries, we rely on lawful transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other appropriate safeguards to protect your data. By using Lil Planner, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to the U.S. and other countries where we operate or where our service providers are located.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, or comply with legal obligations. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable timeframe. However, we may retain certain data for legitimate business or legal reasons (e.g., backups, financial records) in accordance with applicable laws.

7. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access, Correction, Deletion: You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information by using the in-app features (e.g., “Delete Account”) or by contacting us at support@lilplanner.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
  • Object, Restrict, or Port (EEA/UK/Swiss Residents): If you are located in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you may have the right to object to or request the restriction of processing of your personal data, or request data portability, under certain circumstances.
  • Withdraw Consent: Where we process your personal information based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw it at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
  • Complaints: If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland and believe we have not complied with applicable data protection laws, you may lodge a complaint with a local supervisory authority. However, we encourage you to contact us first so we can address your concerns.

8. Security & Data Breach Notification

We use industry-standard measures (e.g., HTTPS/TLS, encryption, access controls) to protect your data. While we strive to protect your personal information, no security system is completely infallible, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We maintain procedures to promptly notify affected individuals and relevant authorities of any data breach where required by applicable law.

9. Children’s Privacy

Parents and guardians are responsible for any data they submit about their children. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your region) to create accounts or submit personal information without parental involvement. We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) in the United States, requiring verifiable parental consent before collecting personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child without proper consent, please contact us at support@lilplanner.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will post the revised policy and update the “Last Updated” date at the top. Your continued use of Lil Planner after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.

If you are a California resident, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act). These rights may include the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for monetary or cross-context behavioral advertising purposes. To exercise your rights, please contact us at support@lilplanner.com.
